Here is a moment: smooth stones in your hand, colorful images popping in a night sky. Questions, like stars twinkle everywhere. Can you resist their sparkle? Do you want to?
The Odyssey Oracle is the place where you can come to ask questions, the place where your wondering about the world, your life and yourself can meet with the ancient words and images of the I Ching and the Tarot cards. Humans have always had questions. And humans have always created opportunities to recognize the collision of the cosmic and the domestic in the unfolding of this journey we call life.
The I Ching, the world’s oldest known oracle and divination system with records dating from 2500 years ago, expounds on the movements of life and energy in detail, helping you to understand what the current play of energies in your life may bring you. Unlike fortune-telling focused on the future, when you ask the oracle, you invite insight and inquiry into what is driving you now. Where will you go if you stay on this road, what of a different route? Of course, what is driving you now, will bring you into the future. But instead of your unconscious motives and hidden questions driving you into your own future, you can ride the vehicle of change, using your not-knowing and curiosity to power you.
Tarot cards, arising some 500 years ago as decks of cards, spring from the well of human experience common to any human no matter where on the earth they live. The images of the Tarot display the journey of a life through love, sorrow, pain, creation and dissolution. Using both strong images such as The Empress and The Magician and the four elements of earth, water, fire and air, the cards invite you to see how you engage your world and learn more about the nature of your obstacles. Seeing more of who you are, guiding your awareness more deeply, you are empowered to grow and change with intention and direction.
Your questions will work the edge. They will tell you where you are entering the unknown. The very act of asking plunges you into a whole new world- a world of choice and possibility, a world in formation. Your questions allow you to take that first step forward into the unknown, provoking change even before you can see it or know that you might wish it. In a ritual of questioning, you activate your senses, excite your intuition and ready yourself to meet the rhythms of your reality. Like water and sunlight on an underground seed, your questions will catalyze growth and initiate movement both inside and outside of you.

It will be a space where you can explore what questions you have and the ways to find support and energy for your journey. I have been exploring these two oracles for just over 18 years now, with myself and with others. I can help you to form your questions and to explore ways to relate effectively with the response from the oracles. Often this process brings clarity and a sense of well-being as you connect to the deeper sources of energy and movement in your world.
Invoking the intersection of cosmological forces and your own concerns, sessions can be focused with questions or opened to a wider appraisal of the forces at work in your life. The I Ching, plied with questions, offers subtle directions on the energies in play, bringing insight to your actions and decisions. The Tarot images, resonating with the heart of humanity, deepen your understanding of both your obstacles and your intentions.
Sessions include both questions and discussion. If you wish, sessions can also include material ways to engage your discoveries through meditation, lifestyle choices, herbs, oils and stones.
